I hope everyone has been well I am pooped right now. The Big Guns Stupid Rednecks collected edition dropped this past week and I had two signings in different states. The week before that I was a guest at a 3 day con in Omaha. I’m going to do quick recaps of them as I had a great time at all of them.

Before we get to that I want to congratulate a friend and amazing supporter Chris on the birth of his second child. Can wait to meet him!

O-Con:

Apparently I didn’t take a picture of my table only videos… This was O-Con’s 10th anniversary and was very busy in the best way possible. I’ve gone to O-Con to roam around before and always had fun, but this year they brought me in as a guest.

I sold a lot of comics and got a lot of new subscribers to this newsletter. As great as both of those things are it wasn’t the best part of the con. I had a lot of amazing interactions with people at my table. Some as simple as talking to people about things we were both passionate about like pro wrestling, a comic, movie, or an anime.

I also got to meet a lot of young people who wanted suggestions on what to read and some who wanted some guidance on how to get started making comics. Seeing young people so in love with comics in the same way I was is extremely rejuvenating and makes my heart happy.

Then the after hours fun at O-Con is always the best part. A lot of my closest friends in comic were at the con. We ate like kings all weekend Detroit style pizza, a steak house, oh it was so good. Good food and even better hangs.

I was also given temporary tattoos of my face to give out by the friends I was staying with. ill be honest when I first opened it I thought it was stupid… but it was a brilliant idea and a lot of fun. People loved them and my face was on a bunch of different people roaming around the con.

Daydreams:

On Wednesday I signed at Daydreams in Iowa City with John Ira Thomas. This has to be my favorite comic book store. The thing which sets it apart from others is that it is a COMIC store! Sure they have some other things, but 99% is comics. They have a great selection of new comics, back issues, indie, manga, and local creators. Nate who runs the place and his staff are not only friendly, but passionate and knowledgable about all things comics.

At times when the signing was slower it was fun to just talk about comics with John, Nate, and Jackson (an employee). Just so much love for comics. I’m not sure if you are aware of this, but I am obsessed with comics so conversations like this are my favorite.

Rainbow Comics

On Saturday I signed with Dylan Jacobson at Rainbow Comics in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Rainbow is a big shop and was filled with all kinds of cool collectables. I should have more to say, but I am so tired now. 3 states 5 days of events in two weeks and 18 hours of driving has me ready to sleep. More next week as always thank you for the support everyone.
